“Matthew is enjoying school. The only thing he has mentioned is that he is finding math class easy. He mentioned on the weekend about all these grade 8’s that are his friends now. Obviously you and Mme. Martin have made all the kids feel accepted and welcome. I believe that “tribes” has certainly helped in this regard as well.
My oldest daughter is in Grade 10 at St. Malachys and has Mr. Maxwell as her home room and for Biology. I understand he was your tribe teacher. She is having an awesome year and has new interest in
school (last year was a little rough). Tribes is a great thing!”

Celebrate What's Right
The key concept behind Celebrate What’s Right is that if - you believe something to be true then you will see it. So we, at Forest Hills believe our students are constantly doing ‘things right ‘. When we look for what is ‘right’ we celebrate it.We are teaching the students, through modeling and celebrating, to ‘be the best for the world’. We will achieve this at, Forest Hills, by having high expectations and by acknowledging all that we have to work with by:
- Broadening our definition of winning.
- Looking for ways to work cooperatively with others.
We can ensure this possibility exist by focusing always on what is right with the situation at hand, and by:
- Focusing on opportunity, rather than scarcity.
- Finding what’s working.
- Keep looking for the next possible answer.
